Born in Hong Kong, grew up in Asia and cold Rochester NY, Hanson founded Salt Partners, a F&B conglomerate in 2014. Prior to Salt, he spent 10 years as Managing Director at The Hina Group, a China focused private equity firm and investment bank. He graduated from Stanford Graduate School of Business as a Siebel Scholar (awarded to top 5 graduates). He also holds a BA and MA from Stanford. He currently sits on the board of Golden Gate Restaurant Association, Center for Asian America Media, and the advisory board of OpenTable.
He also had the great fortune of being part of 3 Black Swan events - at a startup in 2001, in corporate finance in 2009, and have 20 restaurants in 2020. He's a glass half full type of person.
